Highly Engaging Evening
PrettyGreen got all dolled up and headed to the Marketing Week Engage Awards last night at the swanky Grosvenor Hotel on Park Lane.
Well, we tried to head off but thanks to the Queen’s Garden Party we were caught in total gridlock on The Mall. We arrived late, sweating and panting just in time for the start of the awards hosted by Scouse comic John Bishop.
As an ex-marketing man himself John knew the deal – get through the stack of award categories quickly so all the attendee’s can get to the bar and the dance floor. He didn’t disappoint in flying through things but he was also very funny in the process.
PrettyGreen was up for best experiential campaign for our work on Cadbury Spots v Stripes Games Crew. A campaign we are proud to say has played 670,000 games with the UK since 2010. Sitting on our table was Alison Dwyer from Smith and Smith PR who as a student, had amazingly bought shares in the original Nando’s back in her native South Africa. Apparently founders Robert Brozin and Fernando Duarte had taken to door-to-door selling!
Unfortunately we were piped at the post in the award stakes by pd3’s innovative O2 Thinking of Katie campaign but we danced our disappointment away on the dance floor. It is always an honour to be short-listed when there are so many excellent campaigns out there.
Thanks Marketing Week for a brilliant night.
